Remembering Timothy Lee Corl

Beloved son, brother, cousin, and uncle Timothy Lee Corl, 60, broke on through to the other side on July 2, 2026. Affectionately known as "Uncle Tim" to the masses, in addition to his own nieces and nephews, Tim was known for his generosity, his gift of storytelling, and his relentless pursuit of a good time. Introduced into the sport of powerboat racing by his father, Donald Corl, Tim began an extensive career on the water in 1969. He took home a National Championship in 1971 and received many other accolades throughout the following decades, forming a vast network of friends and family across the country along the way. In the 1990's, Tim started bringing his nephews Jaxon, Jesse, and Jordan Swain to the races, and they are still involved in the sport to this day. As a fiberglass expert, Tim designed and built his own boats as well. Corl was a legendary fisherman and hunter in the Northern Lakes area and especially enjoyed fishing with his parents, Don and Marcia Corl, at their home on Lake Wawasee. Teaching young people to fish, including his many nieces and nephews, was one of his favorite activities; he would often make you kiss the first fish you caught. Tim resided on the shores of Conklin Bay for decades. It is widely known in the area that he saved many other fishermen's lives when they were in danger, especially on the ice- he was always there to rescue someone in need. Most importantly, Tim was a devoted son. He was the primary caretaker of both Don and Marcia before their passing. He is survived by his siblings: Tammy, Trudy, Tracy, Todd, and Tricia, and his many nieces and nephews.
