Matthew Kenneth Brewster, age 52, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Born on August 9, 1973, in Somerset, KY, he was the son of Kenneth Brewster and Cheria Phelps. Matthew loved spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Loki. He married Vanessa Brewster on August 1, 2009, and was of the Christian faith. Matthew was a natural marketer and salesman, gifted with the rare ability to make others feel as though they had won the lottery simply by crossing paths with whatever he was offering. His enthusiasm was genuine, and people were drawn to the joy, sincerity, and positive energy he brought into every interaction. He carried the heart of a pioneer — always exploring, always discovering, and always embracing the unique people he met along the way. Matthew formed countless friendships on his journey, each one touched by his warmth, humor, and curiosity. He is deeply missed by those celebrating his life in Kentucky, as well as by family and friends across Arizona, California, South Carolina and Texas who cherish him dearly. Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Brewster; sons Jerremy McAllister and Scott McAllister; daughters Jessica McAllister and Ryanne Gray McAllister; his father and stepmother, Kenneth and Jennifer Brewster of Somerset; his mother, Cheria Phelps of Irmo, SC; his brother’s and sister’s-in-law, David and Amelia Brewster, Dusty and Melissa Phelps and Jason and LaDonna Scott of Somerset, KY; as well as his sister’s and brother-in-law, Brittany and Mike Steward of SC. and sister Holly Hulvey of Somerset, KY; along with extended family members, neighbors, and numerous friends who are deeply saddened by his passing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Ray and Ima Walker; grandmother Rosie Hughes; stepfather Donald Phelps; and nephew Jason Vaught of Somerset, KY.
